Howard has written for various radio shows and written three with his writing partner Chris Chantler. The first two were an episode of The Milk Run on BBC Radio 1 in 2004. The second was a pilot for BBC Radio 7 called An A to Z of The British Countryside in 2006 which he also starred in with Chris Chantler and Josie Long.

His biggest and best radio achievement to date is Peacefully In Their Sleeps a six-part comedy series for BBC Radio 4 in 2007. The show was a series of obituaries of people who didn't exist and starred Geoffrey McGivern, Richard Briers, Marcus Brigstock, Bill Maynard, Rita May, Rula Lenska, Robin Ince amongst many others.
